Fidget and Spin exists because our own son needed somewhere he could play freely — and there was nowhere quite right. So we built it.
When Remy was little, mainstream play groups didn't quite work. The lights were bright. The noise was constant. The unspoken rules — sit still, take turns, follow along — were everywhere. We'd leave more frazzled than when we arrived, and we knew we weren't the only family feeling it.
We tried everywhere we could think of. Soft plays. Toddler groups. Library sessions. They were all lovely places. They just weren't the right places for our child, on most days.
So we built one.
Not perfect, not finished, but properly thought through. Calmer lighting. Quieter music. Three sensory zones designed so children can pick what they need, when they need it. Grown-ups alongside them, not policing them. No fixed start, no fixed end — turn up when you can, leave when you've had enough.
This is the space we wished had existed when Remy was diagnosed. Now it's here for every family who needs it.

The one you'll actually meet at sessions. Sets up the zones, welcomes families in, knows which child needs the quiet tent and which needs the spinning chair.

The one behind the website, tech-support, the spreadsheets, and the never-ending list of small fixes.
Husband to Caitlin, dad to Remy.

Quality control. Strict but fair.
The man behind Professor Fidget,
The reason this whole thing exists.
Everything we do is designed with neurodiverse children in mind — from the lighting to the sensory zones to the way we pace the hour. But above all, it's about fun.
The kind of play your child gets to choose.
This is your space as much as theirs. Chat with another parent, sit quietly, recharge. We make room for the people doing the heaviest lifting.
You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, or anything in writing.
If our sessions feel right for your family, you're welcome.
Running sessions costs money — venue hire, equipment, insurance, time. But we never want cost to be the reason a family can't come.
If a session price is a barrier for you, email us at hello@fidgetandspin.com and we'll quietly sort you a concession spot. No proof needed, no questions asked. We mean it.
Customers can also add a Pay-It-Forward £2 at checkout to fund a place for another family. It's optional. Every bit helps.
